Oldies but goodies ...

... For Philosophers, Dead Is the New 90. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

Philosophers on the whole got as close to eternal life as one could without drinking the religious Kool-Aid.
The religious Kool-Aid doesn't seem to be a problem, either. Jacques Maritain, Etienne Gilson, and Josef Pieper - religious philosophers all - made it to 90, 94, and 93, respectively.

"... journalism and philosophy, both committed to the pursuit of truth, might have something to do with each other." I must remember to ask Carlin what he thinks about this now.
