When I was literary editor of the Observer I always insisted on audiobook reviews because a) we were lucky enough to have Rachel Redford as our reviewer and b) it was only too obvious our readers were grateful for the service.
I thought the same when I was literary editor of The Inquirer (I like the sound of that). And Sandy Bauers, who reviewed them, was also very good. However, the geniuses currently running The Inquirer thought they knew better, and who am I - who is anyone - to doubt their astuteness?
