... on Stieg Larsson trilogy: books, film and journalism.

The background information on Stieg Larrson's politicized journalism is evidence yet again that an author's texts (the novels in this case) ought to be received and assessed as being quite separate and distinct from the author's personal life, politics, gender, etc. Larrson's politicized journalism might be interesting but that aspect of his life remains (IMHO) absolutely irrelevant to his small oeuvre of fiction. Now, in the wake of Larrson's death, others seek to gain traction for their own agenda by bootstrapping themselves to Larrson's politics and journalism. I find that rather objectionable.

  2. Yes, one of the things that impressed me about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was that Larsson's politics did not impinge on it, proving he was a real novelist.
