President Obama's Books Shortlisted . . .

. . . for British Awards?

It's true. According to the BBC, "US president Barack Obama leads the nominations for this year's British Book Awards by making the shortlist for both author and biography of the year.

"Obama's political tract, The Audacity of Hope, and his life story, Dreams from My Father, became UK bestsellers during his 2008 run for office."

I dunno. He's up against J.G. Ballard; and, with all due respect, I think Ballard deserves to win. His work may not be to everyone's liking; but, Ballard appreciates McLuhan and I'm not sure where President Obama stands on My Man (or, if he's even heard of him).
