Gee, I guess I just don't novels like this. The Slynx what inspired to turn my Inquirer column into one about books I could recommend. I was reading The Slynx, planning to review it, and it picked it up one Saturday morning to continue reading it, having started it the night before, and I thought to myself, "What a lousy way to spend a weekend, reading this gloomy piece of shit." Whereupon the proverbial lightbulb went on above my head, and I realized I could just find another book I enjoyed reading and write about that instead. And that is how "Editor's Choice" was born. I wasn't fond of The Road, either.
