Ah, sad news, indeedly, John, that he'd had such a bad fall and broken his hip. I pray he wasn't in pain. He will be resting peacefully, now, though, I believe. I also believe he had the touch of the poet in his work which Patrick Healy describes succinctly in his obitribute:
"In another interview, he said he was attracted only to stories that 'bristled with impossibilities.'"
