Major newspapers, networks, and their respective online extensions are dead. They stream largely focus-group-approved content that's tantamount to mental junk food. The thinkers, leaders and change-makers of tomorrow will adjust their diets accordingly.
I fear that what you say, Greg, about the old media - at least in this country - is only too true, especially what you say about "focus-group-approved content that's tantamount to mental junk food." Though the basic news judgment and awareness of the world of some editors is appalling.
