'Jason Walker, a 45-year-old father of two, left Washington, D.C. (which may have the highest percentage of childless households in the nation), for Ditmas Park to escape “a culture dominated by childless people leery of the existence of kids.”'
There are two girls under three on our block in Washington, DC, one with a sibling due in early winter. Across the alley and down is a boy born the weekend of Hurricane Sandy. And there remain on our block six children between the ages of 4 and 14; three kids have left or are leaving for college. I see plenty of children at Mass on Sundays, most of them certainly District residents.
No doubt there are parts of DC dominated by those who are childless and leery of children. But there are much larger stretches where one sees plenty of childrfen.
