The art of teaching …

… beyond eastrod: Another teaching challenge in Flannery O'Connor's "A Good Man Is Hard to Find".



I wouldn't have minded auditing this class. I think the details of the story that are cited are spot on. They made me realize something I don't think I had noticed before, that the Grandmother's reaching out is also a reminder  that, as Eliot put it, "any action / Is a step to the block, to the fire …" I also suspect more students got more out of the class than RT suspects, even though they may not have known that at the time.
