Bruce Charlton's Notions: Who is better - the Christian of solid faith (who never doubts), or one who has doubts?



I still think Newman is right when he says that faith means being capable of bearing doubt. He acknowledges the dialectic. There is always cause for doubt. So there is always opportunity for faith. The dialogue of doubt and faith is the alternating current of being.
