Just a thought …

There has been some talk today of President Obama's "constitutional right" to nominate a successor to the late Antonin Scalia. The President, in fact, has the same rights as the rest of us, no more, no less. As President, he has assumed certain responsibilities. That is where he differs from the rest of us. The record suggests he has no particular obligation to nominate a successor to Scalia. But he may feel differently.
