Recommended …

Lantern Theater's 'Tempest': A victory for kindliness, with an ache at the heart.

Debbie and I went last night. It is a fine production and well worth seeing. It is also my favorite Shakespeare play.

  1. 'Tis a fine play in which the tropes of creation and paternal care fascinate me. Some productions in the past half century have become mired down in the muck of post-colonial hand-wringing. I hope your theatrical experience avoided the political and stayed focused on the aesthetics of creation. You have sent me scurrying to my Shakespeare for a refresher.
