  1. No doubt--but if I'm going to read Arabic poetry, it's going to have to be in translation. Arabic is widely read--at least the Arabic of the Koran--but a translation into English gives quite a few more people, not all native speakers of English, some access to it.

    Was it cultural imperialism when Aristotle etc. were translated into Arabic?
