They are wonderful - artistically beautiful and technically gorgeous. The photographer definitely has an eye. I wish he'd turn his talents to capturing character more, rather than just picturing a person as a sort of abstract prop in the pictures he takes. It's the difference between a fine 18th century cut crystal vase and one of those modern blue-blown vases. I like those blue-blown modern vases, but I love the romance of old cut crystal. That's what his pictures are missing for me. They don't have that emotion. This is nitpicking though since Mr. Durkee is obviously very talented and sees the world differently to me. He also has the skill to bring what he sees to life where I do not !%$&*@!
Noel, I actually am doing an ongoing series of nudes in nature (mostly male). They're on another part of my website. Otherwise, I tend towards candid photography rather than formally posed in the studio.
Oh Wow! They do cause a mind to take pause.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
