This is the first of what will be a series of links to online poetry. There will be at least one every day. This one links to the current issue of Botteghe Oscure and features poems by Rhina P. Espaillat. (Hat tip, Chris O'Carroll.)
Poems deserve from time from the reader, which is why I'm only posting these one at a time.
Thank you, Frank, I enjoyed reading those very much.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poetry! Nice pub as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link.

Here's an article out this morning about Rhina Espaillat and her poetry group:
ReplyDeleteThe Boston Globe: Powow poets play their part
They recently ran a contest I posted about on the forums, to benefit the Newburyport Art Association. Im thinking this festival is where the results will be announced.
Yours,
Rus
Thanks for the positive comments on individual poems, and for your mention of the Powows and the Nbpt Literary festival. That took place this weekend, and was glorious. We're hoping to make it a yearly event.
ReplyDeleteAs for the honoring of the NAA 2006 Poetry Contest winners and HMs, that will take place at the Awards Day Reading, May 21, 5 PM, at the NAA Gallery, Newburyport, MA. We're at 65 Water Street. The event is free and all are welcome.
This year's judge, Erica Funkhouser, will read from her work, as will the winners and HM poets--and poets assigned to read for those who are unable to attend because of distance. The winners' list has been posted on the NAA website: http://www.newburyportart.org
By the way, in December of this year, the guidelines for the 2007 NAA Poetry contest will be posted there too.
