First it was Vine Deloria (http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1649218,00.html) in November last year, and this year John McGahern in March (http://books.guardian.co.uk/news/articles/0,,1743320,00.html), then Stanley Kunitz last week, and now Boylan. My library should be named "Books of the Dead." Are there any young writers today prepared to fill the void?
