Trashing 'The Virginian'

Ella beats up on Owen Wister: Owen Wister's "The Virginian" I think it's worth noting that what may seem cliched today wasn't when Wister wrote it. He is generally credited with having created the Western. That his original has been imitated to death is hardly his fault - though he gets to pay the price, I guess.

  1. You must know, Willis, that when I posted this, I fully expected you to come to Wister's and The Virginian's defense. Bravo.

I thought this book was incredibly dull. It took Wister half the book to come up with a plot. This book sucks. Don't bother replying to this I will never be at this website again.
