Lynn Viehl loses bet ...

... pays up: Three's a Charm. (Hat tip, Maxine Clarke.)
One the posts, as Bill Peschel notes, offers an excellent summary of what African American Commercial Fiction is. My lovely colleague, Inquirer fashion writer Elizabeth Wellington, just wrote a fine piece about one of the most popular writers in the category - L.A. Banks: Vampire slayer's adventures begin in W. Phila.

  1. This type of fiction (vampires, etc) definitely isn't my cup of tea. And though I agree your colleague has written a good review, it doesn't make me want to change my mind. But I was amused to read recently, on GOB I think, about a vampire series in which in the latest installment the main character finds being pregnant a much greater challenge than fighthing vampires (or whatever). I am sure that's right.

  2. Well, Maxine, it's not my cup of tea, either - though I confess I did find Anne Rice's Lestat charming.
