This is a surprise to me ...

... Which Science Fiction Writer Are You?

I am:
E.E. "Doc" Smith
The inventor of space opera. His purple space war tales remain well-read generations later.

Which science fiction writer are you?

  1. "Robert A. Heinlein

"Beginning with technological action stories and progressing to epics with religious overtones, this take-no-prisoners writer racked up some huge sales numbers."

  2. I guess I don't know much sci-fi, b/c I haven't heard of Heinlein or Smith. I got Smith my first time out, but I changed a couple answers to get Ursula K LeGuin. Now that's a answer I can live with.

On the composer quiz linked from that page, I managed to pull up J.S. Bach.

  3. I turn out to be James Tiptree, Jr. (aka Alice Racconna Sheldon), which is actually rather flattering, since I always thought of her as one of the greatest, ever.

James Tiptree, Jr. (Alice B. Sheldon)

In the 1970s she was perhaps the most memorable, and one of the most popular, short story writers.  Her real life was as fantastic as her fiction.

  4. I am:

    Gregory Benford*

A master literary stylist who is also a working scientist.

*The real Greg Benford once took this quiz, and it told him he was Arthur C. Clarke.

    ___

    I also did:

    Which composer are you:

    Sergei Prokofiev

This acerbic Russian wrote some of the most wryly funny music ever, and also some of the most passionate.
