A most interesting review ...

... Paradox Among the Petals. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

What is interesting about it is that Rosen is able to recommend the book in spite of the ninnyish opinions scattered like weeds throughout. 'He alleges that capitalism has been "the most powerful force of social, political, economic and cultural destabilization the world has ever known"...' Harrison should read Volume I of Henri Pirenne's History of Europe. Come to think of it, everyone should - and Volume II as well. It was written from memory while Pirenne was interned by the Germans during World War I.
