Having survived my unpleasant hibernation, I am back to limited blogging (and other limited activities). In any event, thank you for posting Bloom's comments. Though most of my colleagues have little patience with Bloom, I am consistently impressed by his perspectives and analyses. In the case of BLOOD MERIDIAN, I find little in Bloom's assessment with which I would disagree; in fact, as usual, I am entertained by Professor Bloom's assessment of McCarthy's novel, literature in general, and the teaching of literature.
