Oh, please …

… Protecting Calvin Trillin. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

The younger generation knows that Trillin’s poem is liable to offend.
Offend whom? Humorless twits like themselves, I guess. The poem is a frivolous trifle. They should get some perspective, which this piece suggests, but in my view it is too deferential to the current crybaby generation.

Here's a guy offended on a truly grand scale: White Poets Want Chinese Culture Without Chinese People.

There are so many more important things to get yourself worked up over.

  1. I missed this, probably because the Washington Post weather page doesn't cover teapots. I think that the reasonable response for Calvin Trilin would be to recast the poem with cheeses, either starting or ending with Colby.
