Appreciation …

Graychin's Reviews > Unconditional Surrender. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

At the opening of WWII Guy took up the summons to fight on behalf of a Christendom that no longer existed. By the end of the second volume the ancient sword of the crusader (Sir Roger of Waybroke) is made a mockery of by the Sword of Stalingrad, commemorating the alliance of Britain with the atheist Soviet state. This is the abyss of disillusionment for Guy, but slowly he comes to discover the true “sword of honor” is the one that pierced his own heart years before, and the true field of battle is the individual soul.
