World Book Day's Spread the Word 2009

. . . "The search for "The Book to Talk About 2009" is on. And this year we’re looking for both fiction and non-fiction books that make great subjects for discussion and great food for thought. Like last year, the winner will be chosen from our long list by public vote."

Hey, Jim Dodge's Fup made the grade!

I was given The Glassblower of Murano by a friend recently and only after I'd been mesmerised by it did I find out it was part of the Spread the Word 2009 campaign. When I went to vote, I picked out another book that came to me on a banner on the side of the site.
It's a great campaign for getting people talking about books and for finding books you might not otherwise discover - all of which sound fantastic.
Check it out if you haven't already, and read the comments from other readers
