I don’t see the problem with the Chiefs. American Indians are not alone in having chieftains. Washington should have changed its name to the Foreskins, given all the dickhead politicians in DC.

ReplyDeleteI don't see in the survey's blog article where Notre Dame was even mentioned. And the survey does not seem to ask respondents if a mascot is offensive, just whether they favor it. Notre Dame is mentioned 2 days earlier in another article there with a favorable note: 15 of the Worst College Mascots of All Time. That article ends, "Of course, for every Notre Dame Leprechaun and Florida Gator, there are a few bad college mascots on the list." Did the bloggers edit the article under pressure from Notre Dame? After all, they sell Notre Dame gear.
