Here is a list for this year in the USA, which also links to where other years may be accessed: List of mass shootings in the United States in 2022. The latest is that the Philly shooting from yesterday joined the ones in Socorro and Phoenix. Today already, we have had mass shootings in Grand Rapids and Chattanooga.
ReplyDeleteOn comparing the USA to countries such as Norway, here is a good report: Mass Shootings by Country 2022. It points out that, for instance that Anders Behring Breivik gunned down 69 people in 2011. This statistic skews, not only that year for Norway, but all the years it is averaged into. This one shooting caused Norway, which "had zero mass shootings in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015," to be number one. Also noted are the many countries that do not make anyone's list, because they have zero mass shootings, all the while the USA has many every year.
