A book Mel Gibson should read ...

... while he's in rehab: Georges Simenon ... takes readers on a very bad road trip.
He might want to take a look at this, too: He'll have another one.

  1. Well I have lost touch with Mel over the years, but "in my day", Mel was the Viggo Mortensen of my heart. That's before I discovered Viggo of course. But I do have a soft spot for Mel despite his strange ideologies, so go easy on him, Frank ;-)
(PS before Mel, it was Robert Redford, natch.)

  2. Actually, Maxine, I'm a big fan of Mel's. The first time I saw him on screen - which, oddly enough, was not until The Road Warrier - I came out of the theater and said to the friend I had gone with, "I don't know who that guy is, but he's going to be a star." I was a year and a half younger than Mel is now when I realized that my fondness for distilled spirits was getting the better of me. My awakening wasn't quite rude as Mel's but just as convincing. I hope and pray he gives up the sauce. He'll find life is actually a lot better without it - and I say that as one who really enjoyed toping.
