I've written about The Lazarus Project on this blog before, but now, thinking about it more, it's safe I think to say that Hemon's book really is a mixture of Sebald's Emigrants and Safran Foer's Everything is Illuminated. Odd bed-fellows it might seem, but if this oddity results in a book as poignant and penetrating as The Lazarus Project, then so be it! Modern fiction is enhanced by Hemon's contributions and insight.
