Updates from WCU...

With the arrival of Richard Wilbur, our day has been full at the WCU Poetry conference.  Wilbur has already provided participants with multiple critical seminars and a special workshop moderated by Dana Gioia on the poetic process.  Our staff is working diligently to prepare for our closing event, a dramatic performance of Wilbur's translations of Moliere and Corneille directed by David Yezzi.

Dramatic performance poetry tonight.  Wine tasting and wine-inspired poetry on Thursday.  A concert showcasing poems set to original jazz melodies on Friday.... The 15th Annual Conference appears to be giving credence to my new favorite quote, one from Donald Hall by way of his driver, Mr. John Velez--- "Poetry is the new black."
