Imagine that ...

... World may not be warming, say scientists. (Hat tip, Dave Lull, who also sends along this: The professor’s amazing climate change retreat.

I wonder if it would be permissible to infer from this that the science is somewhat less settled than some have claimed.

More here and here.

Here is Jones's response at Nature: 'Climategate' scientist speaks out.

Post bumped because I want as many voices heard on this as possible.

  1. Selective linking....I definitely would not take anything the Daily Mail says seriously! (On any topic.) Try Nature Reports Climate Change (free) or Nature (subscription). There's an interview with Phil Jones of CRU today, and also a news feature last week on climate scientists' recommendations for IPCC's future direction post Copenhagen.

  2. Nope, Maxine, not selective. As the immediately following post demonstrates. I am not qualified to adjudicate the dispute. I simply thought there were more grounds for a dispute than was generally acknowledged. I believe that position has been strengthened. Moreover, I do not believe the recent revelations in any disprove AGW. They do, however, place it in the position of being not proved. I have consistently approached this from the angle of logic and rhetoric. The rhetoric of the AGW advocates has been consistently poor.
