If you want to rebut the rationalist paradigm — that reason unaided is the only human faculty capable of getting at the nature of things — myth is the way to go, since it is the polar opposite of pure reason. Reason would reduce everything to a lowest common denominator. For myth, being resonates in connotation. Every implication blossoms into further implications. Reason takes things apart. Myth spins a tale. Are we products of chemical reaction, or figures in an epic?
