Thanks so much, Frank, for speaking up about the AJC's misguided, culturally-irresponsible decision to eliminate its book editor. I would encourage ALL book lovers to protest this bad decision by signing the online petition at Critical Mass, the blog of the National Book Critics Circle.
It's possibly, but not probably, funny that the AJC eliminates its book editor just as its managing editor wins a Pulitzer Prize for writing a book.
