Today, I reread Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address, March 4, 1865. Only Several Pages in length , it is a remarkable piece. It contains 698 words. It rained for two days prior to the ceremony and the sun came out just as the ceremony began.
It should be required reading. On this March 4, 1865, it was the first time African Americans had ever marched in an Inaugural parade.
