Happy 75th ...

... to Jerry Lee Lewis. Rock and roll as those of us present at its creation remember it.

Something more (hat tip, Rus Bowden).

  1. It was the late Ray Charles' birthday last week, on the 23rd.

Here's a boogie I've been listening to lately, with Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, and Fats Domino. It goes right into a great rendition of Jambalaya:

Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino

The whole thing becomes a party, and it's great to watch everyone's reactions to the songs as they progress, and then the audience.

That now 63-year-young base player having the time of his life playing with these great rockers, is none other than Ron Wood of the Jeff Beck Group, who now plays for the Rolling Stones.

    Thanks for posting.

    Yours,
    Rus

  2. Jerry Lee Lewis lived in my hometown in Louisiana and had parties regularly during the early seventies at his mansion. I was in my senior year in high school in 1971 and we would ride by just to count the number of people that would be hanging from his balcony. He was known for outstanding parties and provided a lot of interesting gossip for the small community he lived some of the time.
