A roll of the drums ...

... and a flourish of trumpets, please, for ... the IBPC Poem of the Year.

  1. I enjoyed that. I like the word dirt. I planted a tree the other day. I have to say I found the whole experience richly rewarding (I'm a city boy). I took my time. The smell and texture of the soil stirred childhood memories. As I child I had a much, much closer relationship with the earth. We probably all do, to a certain extent (my two-year old took a mouthful, for example). By the way, over here we tend not to call it dirt, but soil. Why is that?

Why? Europeans are more refined. Definitely.
