RIP

... Leading Man Traveled From Broadway to 'Fargo'.

His performance on the Ormandy recording of Carmina Burana is the best I've ever heard. He was about the only good thing in the film version of Paint Your Wagon.

  1. I never met Mr. Presnell, but we had a mutual friend, and he was apparently a very nice man. His portrayal of an insane retired private eye in the short-lived "Andy Barker, PI" was hilarious.

  2. Please, James, get the Ormandy Carmina. It will make you feel young again, largely because of Mr. Presnell. Listening to it now, knowing how young I was when I first heard it, and knowing that he has died, I feel, in Browning's words, "chilly and grown old."
