Today's Inquirer reviews ...

... In defense of his own theology. (I can't help thinking that if Weakland were a more traditional prelate there would be less sympathy for his sexual affair, violation of his vows, and misappropriation of $450,000 presumably donated by members of the faithful. Good headline, though, since the theology Weakland defends is indeed his own, not the Church's. ' "If I had a weakness," he writes wryly, "it was that I seemed unable to keep from uttering my opinions even when they were not welcome in high places." ' He might want to consider hypocrisy and dishonesty as weaknesses also.)

... Confronting changes and choices.
