A paean to slyness ...

... at Grumpy Old Bookman, who has wonderful things to say about Muriel Spark and her novel Aiding and Abetting, which is about the long-vanished Lord Lucan: Muriel Spark: Aiding and Abetting.

Does anyone remember Black Box Recorder's "Lord Lucan Is Missing"?

  1. You know, someone gave me that book 2 Christmases ago, and I have just given it (unread) to a charity shop in one of my periodic but doomed attempts to find some space for all my books. I just wasn't that interested in Lord Lucan. Now I realise I was probably wrong.
I did read a lot of Muriel Spark's books when I was a teenager, starting with The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and continuing with the whole oeuvre. But I got out of touch with her over the past years.
